Reminders

Hi Everyone-
I'm sending you some reminders of things to take care of before the next
rehearsal. Please read through the whole thing (it's not as long as it
looks)

Supplies:
I put in the main order last week, so your shoes, socks, gloves, lyres,
and flip folders should be coming in very soon. If you are new and still
need to order stuff, I'm putting in another order this weekend. Either
order through our web store (http://store.marshwoodmusic.org/)
<http://store.marshwoodmusic.org/) or> or bring me your order form and check
by 3:00 tomorrow (Friday).

Jackets and "band geek" shirts:
Orders were due tonight - you may still order them through the web store
at http://store.marshwoodmusic.org/ before Saturday morning or bring me your
order form and check by 3:00 tomorrow.

Uniforms:
High School students - come in during your lunch either tomorrow or
Monday. It should take only a few minutes, especially since most of you are
returners. Eighth graders, either come at 5:00 on Monday or plan to stay
until 8:30. It's important that we get this done by Monday so that we have
time to make any alterations before the football game Friday night and the
show Saturday.

9/25:
The home show is just about two weeks away. If you don't have a family
member who has volunteered to help out with either the Home Show or our
Eliot Festival Days booth, please get the volunteer forms in ASAP. You may
also contact Pattie Glynn, the home show coordinator (thanks, Pattie!). Our
show will be the largest MBDA show this year (except for finals), so we can
use all the help we can get! 13 Bands will be performing, including us,
co-host Wells, Boston University, and the University of Maine (their only
MBDA appearance this year)!
If any of your family members or friends want to put an ad in the
program, those forms are due next Thursday. These ads cost $10. Parents -
this is a great chance to embarass your kids with baby pictures! ;-)

Forms:
I NEED your medical forms/permission slips ABSOLUTELY NO LATER than next
Thursday. We need these before going on any trips, and I need to go through
them before that, so bring them in ASAP. Get 'em in! If you don't have
them, that means you probably don't have a handbook. This can be downloaded
in .pdf format at http://www.marshwoodmusic.org/mb/handbook.pdf

Drumline:
Bass Drum sectional Friday night - don't forget. All drumline members,
don't forget you still have 4:30 rehearsals for the next couple of weeks.
Work hard and be on time!

Absences:
Because of our shortened season, it is absolutely imperative that
absenteeism and tardiness are at a minimum. If you MUST miss a rehearsal or
performance (and it must be for a very good reason) we need to know about it
at least a week in advance. If you are sick (and I mean really sick),
please contact me as soon as possible the day of rehearsal to let me know.
You are all important members of this group, so we need you all there for
every rehearsal and performance. Missing one rehearsal is 50% of that
week's rehearsal time. We appreciate all the new members, it's great to
have them on board! We've been moving slow because a lot of people had to
catch up. Tonight was the cut-off for new people, so we should be able to
keep pushing ahead, and avoid having to reteach everything. If you need to
make up for a missed rehearsal, it will affect the entire group. If you are
in the guard or drumline, you must also let Kevin or Ron know if you are
going to miss a rehearsal. We often plan what we're going to do based on an
expectation of who will be there. If one person is missing from a section
it can throw everything out of whack for the evening and we end up losing
time.
Anyway, I think I've beaten my point home enough. We're going to have a
great season as long as all of you hold up your end of the bargain. Don't
forget: SYSTEM + SPIRIT = SUCCESS

Have a great weekend. Please spend some time practicing and memorizing.
Visualize the drill while you practice your music or carriage.

See you Monday night!

-Mrs. G
